Fly Wingwoman...

I’ve recently blogged about an Octopus Wingman. What about my experiences as a Wingwoman, you ask, pleadingly?

I am quite a little bit of a social butterfly. You know, especially near to pay day. I make an effort to mingle and meet new peeps, hoping that someone will share my penchant for good manners and have them join me on my Manner Mission.

One of my Eastern Capers has recently moved to Skaapstad, and, being the welcoming, embracing…

Review: Burial Street Halo EP

For the first review of 2012 I am breaking my rules, slightly. JoziReview is supposed to be all Jozi all the time.

-

EP may seem very strange. Burial is from London and his new EP is dedicated to New York. I find it very difficult to listen to Street Halo and not think of Jozi. There are only 3 tracks which all clock in at over 6:20 which suits me fine, I like slow burning songs.

-

The first track Street Halo breaks most of my rules for music I…

Omar Ortiz-Paintings

The fact that the painter Omar Ortiz is in the shot, doesn’t make the paintings any different. Guessing that these are oil paintings is really difficult as his paintings seem so real. Just look at the detail in the hands. The Mexico-based artist often only features three elements, a white setting, a human figure and some strategically draped fabric. His ability to paint the human hands…
