The“Tree Hotel” was created by Stockholm-based archtects Tham & Videgard Arkitekter, in Harads, Northern Sweden. It is an Aluminum mirrored 4x4x4 glass cube and is suspended around the trunk of a tree. It reflects a 360 degree view of the surroundings, creating a camouflaged refuge.

The units are accessible by a rope ladder or rope bridge, the plywood interior has been designed to accommodate two people, and contains a double bed, bathroom, living room and a roof terrace.

The project also alludes to how man relates to nature, how we tend to use high tech materials and products when exploring remote places in harsh climates. To prevent birds colliding with the reflective glass, a transparent ultraviolet colour is laminated into the glass panes which are visible for birds only.

This is incredible.
