“Post-it Structures” by Yo Shimada

For me this is such a great and simple idea. It’s amazing how people take the most insignificant things and transform it into significance through imagination and creativity. Known as “Post-It-Structures”, these 30,000 luminescent coloured post it notes appear to be germinating like a fungus on a piece of bread. Yo Shimada of Tato Architects, created this installation that forms cells, then blocks and then walls that run throughout the gallery. “Post-it Structures” was on display at the Gallery Artzone in Kyoto City, Japan last year whereby the audience was invited to interact with the piece by adding post-it-notes on the facing gallery walls.
