I was invited to the fabulous IKKS launch at their store in Hyde Park and was treated to a delicious spread of bite size treats, while I browsed their stunning new collection.

This French Brand, known amongst those whom have an eye for minimalist pieces already has a cult following in SA after the success of it’s Winter collection, has now just launched their Spring/Summer 2013 Collection at their flagship store in Hyde Park Corner Shopping Centre.

Simply stylish from afar, on closer inspection the clothing offers luxurious fabrics and finishing’s, all with a quintessentially French twist that is always easy but chic. Launched in 1987, the brand started as a range of children’s wear, but by 1999 it had grown to include womenswear and would expand into menswear in 2003. The brand now offers a range of accessories, shoes, bags, and fragrances, which can be found in 350 IKKS stores worldwide, and 3500 exclusive multi-brand retailers. For summer the Hyde Park store will continue to offer the 3 IKKS women’s lines, namely IKKS WOMAN, IKKS PURE TOUCH and IKKS FINAL EDITION.

To give you an indication of what’s on offer in only one of the ranges, the IKKS WOMAN, the brand’s principle women’s range takes us on a journey inspired by exotic locales and adventures.

Some of the key stories this season include, Riviera, for the woman who loves to stroll by the sea, blending pieces that are borrowed from the boys with her feminine touch, to create an elegant but sporty look. Tribal Tropical is for the romantic adventurer who collects prints and souvenirs that she brings back from her travels. She loves easy pieces in natural fabrics like linen, cotton and silk. Despite her adventurous spirit, glamour always comes first, which is expressed through luxe beaded, stud and pearl detailing. The Indochine woman is the adventurer’s best friend, travelling across Asian paddy fields and the Bay of Halong, always searching and soaking up her travels. She combines old-style colonial pieces with ethnic prints and an artistic blend of colour. Finally the Dolce Vita range is for the woman who appreciates the best in life. She loves to celebrate special moments and selects fittingly festive pieces. Neutral tones embellished with shiny, coppery details make for a fun but refined look.

The collection is completed with a selection of high fashion leather jackets that feature in bold colours and sprayed metallics, as well as a range of jeans and trousers in capri, biker, boyfriend and classic styles.
