Toshiko Horiuchi-MacAdam, a Canadian based artist has built an eye popping a colourful playground through crocheting. Working with a team of assistants, the artist built his way up the jungle gym by crocheting and hanging nets, swings, cushions and pockets for children to play and explore. It is now based at the Hakone Open Air Museum. According to KnitJapan, “one of Japan’s leading fibre artists”, Horiuchi-MacAdam “specializes in creating large, interactive textile environments that function both as imaginative and vibrant explorations of colour and form, at the same time as providing thrilling play environments.
