Slightly Smudged Eyeliner

If you want to steal Leighton Meester’s look, first line the rims of your eyes with a black liquid liner, such as Sonia Kashuk Jet Set Liquid Liner says makeup artist Emily Kate Warren. From there using a short-bristled eyeliner brush, layer a matte black shadow Clinique Color Surge Eye Shadow Stay Matte in Midnight over the liner. Finish the look with mascara on the top and bottom lashes, if it does get a bit messy, you can always use a Q-tip, but remember little smokey black liner packs a whole lot of attitude!

Pearly Eyes

At the Spring Chanel Show, makeup artist Peter Philips traced the inner rims of the eyes with Chanel Le Crayon Khôl in Clair, a beige pencil, then lined the upper lash lines with black. He then tapped a sheer white cream shadow flecked with the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in Fantasme silver on the lids, up to the brows, and past the outer corners with his finger. Next, he blended Emerveille, a pearly peach cream shadow, into the edges of the white and out to the temples, creating a highlighted effect. To finalise this shimmering look: Chanel Inimitable Mascarawas applied on just the top lashes.

Red Lips And Eyes

At the spring Anna Sui show, makeup artist Pat McGrath used a vibrant red on both eyes and lips for a pretty flushed look. In lieu of eye shadow, she rubbed Cover Girl Sculpting Blush in Lush Berry on the lids, then pressed shimmery white shadow from Cover Girl Smokey Shadow Blast in Onyx Smoke in the center to add intensity. After applying a bit of red lipstick on the lids, she created long, stunning lashes with black mascara. The fiery lips came from layers of Anna Sui Lipstick in #461, an orangey red, and Cover Girl Runway Collection Lipstick in Tempt and Hot(available in January).

Violet Eyeliner

Purple flatters style and sophistication. Zoe Saldana's take on this look: An easy and sultry way to play with purple is by wearing it along the lower lashes. Begin by lining the rims of the eyes with a black pencil, like Revlon Luxurious Color Eyeliner in Black Velvet, states Warren. Then scribble the pencil on the back of your hand and using a slightly stiff eye shadow brush, add in a bright purple shadow like Nars Single Eyeshadow in Daphne. Drag the mixture along your lower lashes and blend the edges with a sponge or a clean shadow brush.

Tawny Eyes, Cheeks and Lips

Warm shades of caramel on eyes, cheeks, and lips are georgeous and simple. At Chloé, makeup artist Lucia Pieroni prepped skin with M.A.C. Face and Body Foundation and highlighted the cheekbones, temples, Cupid's bow, and bridge of the nose with a taupe-gold cream shadow, the cheeks were then dusted with M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Deep. A shiny neutral cream shadow M.A.C. Paint Pot in Groundwork for blondes and Constructivist for brunetteswas used on the eyes, keeping the color close to the lashes. A few light touches of mascara and a nude (or pale pink, for lighter skin tones) lipstick gave this look an even more natural finish.

Pink Cheeks And Lips

Rachel McAdams's romantic flush of pink is all about being woman. A lip and cheek stain, like Stila Lip and Cheek Cream in Fuchsia. For the most natural application, smear a bit of the stain onto the back of your hand and pick up the colour with a fluffy, dome-shaped blush brush; swirl this onto the cheeks and tap away the edges with your fingertips. Then pat the stain onto your lips and press together to give the colour a feathery edge. For that extra shine, top with Voilà clear gloss.

Chocolate Lips

At the spring Donna Karan show, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury lined and filled models' lips with a deep red-brown pencil, carefully drawing points at the Cupid's bow. She then mixed two M.A.C. lipsticks—Mocha and Full Chocolate to get her cocoa-red shade and painted it on using a lip brush. To take away shine and help the color last longer she patted the lips with a bit of face powder.
