On the 20th October 2011 tashas participated in the Starfish Foundation Melrose Long Long Long Dinner Event. The entire length of Melrose Arch’s High Street was closed off for a seventies themed extravaganza under the stars in aid of the Starfish Greathearts Foundation. 

Nicolas Nicolaou from GEM created a spectacular setting under the stars and Alex and Melpo from AM Branding designed the 70's themed menu. tashas served 86 guests and we all celebrated generously with delicious food and company.

Now in its fifth year, The Starfish Visa Long-Long- Long Table has been encouraging South Africans from all walks of life to celebrate the future of the children, and pledge their commitment to bring life, hope and opportunity to their lives. Visa is extremely proud to once again be sponsoring the event,” said Gillian Cederwall, Head of Corporate Communications at Visa.


Known for his passion to give back, Jeremy Mansfield took centre stage hosting the evening with entertainment from Cathy Specific entertainer Brendan van Rhyn and live music from South Africa’s own, Denim. Renowned South African auctioneer Joff van Reenen, from The High St Auction Co encouraged patrons, media and guests to dig deep into their pockets and make a difference to the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa. Over R115 000 was collected from the auction.

The tashas menu consisted of a delicious meat menu option or choice of a vegetarian menu.

Vegetarian Option: Burrata Mozzarella, Porcini and wild mushroom risotto, pnieapple carpaccio and a cheese board.

Meat Option: Salmon Carpaccio, Beef Wellington, Panacotta and a cheese board.
