Shoelosophy notes: As you all know by now, I love shoe art! So when I came across this exhibition held last weekend at East London’s Old Truman Brewery-UK. “Shoes for Show” offered a rare chance to see a breathtaking range of show-stopping shoes designed by the likes of Gareth Pugh, Nina Ricci and Christian Louboutin.
'The exhibition was literally a sweet shop for all those fond of fancy footwear, showcasing one-off, couture pieces designed solely for spectacle rather than function. Gareth Pugh’s structured gold shoes for Beyoncé shined brightly and Meadham Kirchhoff’s green and pink glitter flatforms sparkled playfully, whilst jaws dropped at the highest heel in the world – Christian Louboutin’s towering, crystal encrusted ballet pumps. The exhibition, held over four days, presented a modern fusion between fashion and art, delivering a real feast for the eyes, and of course the feet!'-Sarah Deane for Trendland.
