Throughout this spring strange aspects have come about on the red carpet- starlets and A-listers alike have been bringing out their darkest lipsticks. Pretty berries and cool corals…basically all of your spring trends have taken a turn to the gothic appearance.

It’s all about 90’s Goth. The Met Gala was a sea of dark lips, from Camilla Belle, Kate Bosworth, Lana Del Rey to Jessica Alba and Rachel Zoe all strutted their style of colour.

Let’s just say that the trending began with Pat McGrath through painting black cherry lips on the models for the spring Balenciaga runway show of 2012. McGrath layered CoverGirl Queen lipstick in “Fine Wine” over Lip Perfection lipstick in “Euphoria” and the look really stunned and stood out among the sea of “spring” faces that have been the norm of catwalks.
