This season’s new batch of Italian gelato ice-cream sandwiches can be found on a truck

or at the flea market in the USA.

Coolhaus

Every Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwich is all-natural, handmade and organic whenever possible. Their dairy is sustainably produced and artificial growth hormone free. They use local and seasonable farmer’s market fresh ingredients. Plus, every ice cream sandwich is wrapped in a customizable, edible wrapper that is all-natural and calorie-free. Talk about being Green! Instead of throwing away your wrapper, you get to eat it! … Not to mention, the wrapper can be printed on with edible ink, which means it can sport your company logo, birthday mugshot, or a message to friends.

Try two different cookies on one sandwich—or make it a two-scoop double.

Melt Bakery

Created and conceptualised on Manhattan's lower east side, melt bakery debuted at the Hester Street Fair in June 2010, introducing three ice cream cookie sandwiches using good ole fashioned cookies and artisanal ice creams. Melt has expanded to over 30 rotating combinations.

Bklyn Larder(Brooklyn)

The chewy chocolate wafer is a nice retro touch; the flavors—hazelnut, espresso, and the delicious fior di latte(flower of milk). Take the freshest milk you can imagine (here, from Evans Farmhouse Creamery), add just enough salt to bring out the creaminess, and spin into airy, silky gelato. This is ice cream that takes you right back to the farm.

Dessert Club, Chikalicious (East Village New York)

Macarons, éclairs, now peanut-butter cookies: There’s nothing this enterprising crew won’t use as a delivery system for its superb ice cream.

Francois Payard Bakery (New York)

Pistachio, coconut, and berry-flavored macarons shaped into petite rectangles—maybe the best thing to happen to ice cream since the cone.

This is perfect for our summer days in SA and great entertaining ideas when having guests at your home. Would love it if we had local stores like these here!
