Virtual, 3D and luminescent is the basis of ‘home within a home’ by Korean Artist Do Ho Suh. These solo representations of these new sculptural pieces are being shown at the Leeum Samsung Museum of art, whereby these thread and sheer fabric drawn depictions of his nomadic existence living in major urban areas such as Seoul, New York and Berlin. Amazing, creative and different, he tends to investigate the idea of ‘really’ inhabiting a place, developing a concept of ‘home’ as skeletal representations throughout the Museum, actualizing this concept as both a boundary and passageway in the gallery space. His ingenious pieces exist as separate experiences, influenced by the light and surrounding architecture and the orientation of the suspended works in comparison to one another reveals a greater complexity to the artist’s examination of ‘the home’ through the grouping of bright floating structures.
