In a recent brand and store redesign for the high-end UK restaurant Southern Eleven, local advertising agency - Cross Colours, provided an excellent example of ‘globalised’, cross-cultural design at its best. This work earned them a Bronze Loerie in the category - ‘three dimensional and environmental design – interior design and temporary structures’. Southern Eleven is based in Spinningfields, Manchester, and the company partnered with Cross Colours to design the restaurant and develop a unique and recognisable brand identity.
The brief was to specifically create an atmosphere and environment that is authentically Southern States of America, but with a modern, urban twist. Using the Southern states as inspiration, Cross Colours explored the elements of traditional Southern cooking, including the region’s famed hospitality and penchant for hearty, wood-smoked cuisine. The result is a unique and highly sophisticated casual dining eatery to illustrate the concept of “The Southern Way meets Manhattan”. Cross Colours collaborated with Reddeco to provide the end result which balances nicely between stylish and cowboy.
