Wow, so we all know by now that 2011 was one of the biggest years of weddings. From the three big K’s (Kate, Kate, and Kim) to a few other gorgeous marriages, it was most definitely, undoubtedly the most amazing year for tying the knot. And at least 9 of the 10 featured here are still married.
Kate Middleton and Prince William
Outstanding from one minute to the next. The Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen lace gown, made to absolute perfection. The half up/half down hair. The self-applied radiant makeup. And of course...the groom needed to be added in too!
Kate Moss and Jamie Hince
From the Galliano-designed gown to the three-day party afterwards!
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries
Here we are viewing three Vera Wang dresses, about $18 million dollars, and then...back to single.
Sofia Coppola and Thomas Mars
With a very down to earth look, plain and classy, Sofia wore a custom made lavender gown by Azzedine Alaïa, maybe a bit of a scruffy look, but genuinely happy, and what better way than to have it in Italy.
Michael Kors and Lance LePere
There are no pictures or details from their private Southampton ceremony. They had to be mentioned because that was the year that gay marriage was finally legalized in New York this year. But the party afterwards must have surely been a blast!
Lauren Bush and David Lauren
Yes there were months of debates regarding whether she would be called Lauren Lauren, Lauren Bush Lauren was the verdict. She and David married at the Ralph Lauren ranch in Colorado, wearing Ralph Lauren.
Joanna Hillman and Aram Green
Her dress came straight from the Rochas archives themselves, because the Harper Bazaar‘s senior market editor would never wear an off-the-rack wedding. The wedding looked very sophisticated and very New York like.
Anja Rubik and Sasha Knezevic
Anja is a model, and probably one of the few brides who can pull off a short dress with a long train. She did it stunningly, but then again who wouldn't when you are wearing an Emilio Pucci frock by Peter Dundas. Also, it’s definitely an advantage to be a model on your wedding day, every snap shot taken of her looked amazing.
Mark Ronson and Josephine de la Baume
Mark should definitely be considered an icon for the way he looked like on this special occasion. Setting an example what all grooms should look like by showing off his pink and white seersucker, but nevermind that...his French bride to be looked magnificent in her Zac Posen dress
Bella Swan and Edward Cullen
Ok so it was only a wedding on the big screen but gained more attention than a “real” celebrity’s wedding would. Bella wore Carolina Herrara, and Edward, well he had his own "glow" about him.
