Felix Laband had a party on top of the Lister building, which is fast becoming one of my favourite venues in Jozi, to celebrate the possibility that he might have an album coming out. Yes a bizarre circumstance around which to have an event.

The top of the Lister or "PRIVATE PRACTICE" as people are insisting on calling it, I prefer "the top of Lister building myself, is always cold mid summer eve and its cold...

The show was complimented by Danger Ingozi, Blk Jks Soundsystem and Newtone. I missed Danger but Blk Jks Soundsystem were mind blowing, brilliant. Mpumi and Tshepang are master master party craftsmen. Felix came on and took us too beautiful places, his music embarrassingly described Wednesday night as like "a pearl on an ocean".  He played a lot of new stuff, which I had heard at Brickfields a number of weeks ago. It was a running joke amongst my crowd of friends that he was watching "24" on his laptop as we could not work out what he could possibly be doing on it, other than working out if Jack Bauer was going to make the jump onto that helicopter.

Jokes aside it was great to see Felix at work and playing some of his older banging banging tunes.

I do hope the new album is as good as his live show.
