Most Stylish Performing Artist in TV - Roxy Burger

At the age of just 27, Roxy Burger boasts a television and film career spanning 15 years. After numerous international and local TV commercials and Disney film roles, Roxy landed her spot on MNETs flagship children’s channel, KTV, which saw her voice expertise and natural presenting ability flourish.
After graduating with her Bachelors Degree in Audiovisual Production Management from the University of Johannesburg and later her Honours Degree in Branding, Roxy left KTV to pursue her career as a TV Producer and worked as a Freelance Producer and Brand Strategist.
She was also the co-owner and founder of Alexandra Knoxx Bridal Couture which she has subsequently sold off to a new owner.

In 2011, she also created and produced 5FMs (TV)5 which aired every Friday evening on SABC3 bringing fans closer to the biggest radio brand in the country.  Roxy presented Season 2 of SABC3s Flash in late 2011, a news entertainment platform, which was the perfect showground for her

incredible fashion sense, timely wit and her ability to appeal to crossover audiences.  Roxy has recently been seen on VUZU TVs #10over10 and is a fan favourite on social media platforms.

Especially after Trevor Gumbi crowned her the Queen of Wooty: white girl booty… But the icing on top of this rather large cake was the announcement that Miss B is the newest MTV VJ on MTV South Africa. Not only was she hosting the channel’s flagship entertainment property, MTV Choice,
but she was also the voice of the channel, bringing a lively and local flavour to channel 130 on DSTV.

Roxy got straight in there in August 2013 and worked the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards in Brooklyn NYC where she got to witness, first hand, Miley Cyrus’ *ahem* thought provoking live performance. She interviewed the likes of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, 30 Seconds to Mars, Jennifer Hudson, 2 Chainz and Rita Ora. She most definitely held her own at that rather international affair.

Having sat down with the biggest international stars from around the globe will stand Roxy in good stead as host of MTV Choice – she has interviewed, amongst others, Rihanna, Larry King, Chris Brown, Liam Neeson, Sam Worthington, Jessica Alba, Maroon 5, President Thabo Mbeki… to name just a few.
In October 2013, Roxy launched a new online shopping venture with business partner and London-based Stylist, @sarahannstyles. Follow @_OhOneOne_ for more info and visit the store at
www.ohoneone.co.za
Roxy’s latest TV gig is on one of South Africa’s most glamorous and most loved shows, Strictly Come Dancing. She hosted Season 7 of the reality dance show with esteemed presenter Katlego Maboe. LIVE TV is Roxy’s forte so it’s an understatement to say she had the time of her
life!
Continuing her stay on SABC 3, Roxy has now landed a spot on one the longest running and most glamourous shows on South African television, Top Billing. She joins esteemed presenters such as Bonang Matheba, Jeannie D, Simba Mhere and Ursula Staplefeldt. Top Billing airs on SABC 3 every Thursday at 20:30.

Most Stylish New Comers - Jonathan Boynton-Lee

He may be known to many people as the latest talented addition to the Top Billing team, but Jonathan Boynton-Lee is much more than meets the eye.

Before gracing our small screen as the winner of the My Top Billing dream reality show, Jonathan was carving his name into the local art and entertainment scene as an award-winning and multi-talented filmmaker.

His influence was so profound that he was recently named as one of the Mail and Guardian’s 30 most influential young South Africans in the art and culture fields.

While his career may have started by acting, writing and directing for theatre with local stars Andrew Buckland and Reza de Wet, Jonathan quickly set himself apart with a script he wrote for the Quickies film festival, which was selected from over 5000 entries to be produced and screened on art cinemas across the country, and was voted as one of SA’s top 12 directors.

Following this up with a spot in a popular reality filmmaking show on SABC, where Jonathan’s two short films competed against other filmmakers, winning best editing and cinematography, he quickly became known as a trendsetter in the film business.
It isn’t something that is surprising, especially as Jonathan has been driven to succeed since he set out on his career. He describes his motivation as a simple one.

“Being true to me, never changing for anyone- “Know thyself, be thyself, so the people may see thyself”. I also refer to the tattoo I have on my ribs - “Wherever you go, go with all your heart”. There is nothing quite as important as emptying your heart every single day, leaving nothing undone, no declarations of it unsaid,” he explains.

Since then he has shot award winning commercials and corporate videos for, among others, Audi, Garmin, Nestle, Canon, Coca Cola, SAA, Johnnie Walker, Multichoice, Anglo Gold, and the United Nations. Jonathan’s Friskies campaign also won him a coveted Loerie award.
Two-time Academy Award nominee Kevin Harris selected him as one of 6 filmmakers across Africa to be mentored under the auspices of the Rainbow Documentary Collective. With Kevin, Jonathan has just completed their second documentary together, the highly praised Life is Art.
Following its world premiere, Jonathan’s feature film debut Jozi Kings was nominated for Best Action Film and Best Screenplay at the Nollywood Film Critics’ Awards in the USA, subsequently winning for best film. It was recently selected to spearhead a revolutionary new distribution platform, Kasi Movie Nights, bringing the magic of movies to the townships. The film has subsequently been nominated for best film in the 2013 Africa Magic viewer’s choice awards, and has made official selection for the 2013 Jozi Film Festival.

Jonathan is also as talented in front of the camera. Aside from being the winner of the recent My Top Billing dream reality contest, he is easily recognizable in local commercials for Exclusive Books, Absa, Coca Cola, Toyota, and Steers. He has modeled for, among others, Woolworths, Nike, FHM, GQ, Gucci, Abercrombie, and Calvin Klein underwear, and graced the runways at local and international fashion shows.
