July Romance with Romeo and Juliet- Joburg Ballet

The tragic and utterly romantic story of Romeo and Juliet comes to life at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein this week, running from 15 to 24 July. The company will be joined by Australian- born guest artist Aaron Smyth (Romeo), no stranger to Joburg audiences, as well as ten dancers from Vuyani Dance Theatre, who will augment Joburg Ballet for the large scale Romeo and Juliet which returns to the company’s repertoire after an absence of five years.

The roles of Romeo will be danced by Joburg Ballet principal dancers Jonathan Rodrigues, Juan Carlos Osma, Michael Revie and international guest artist Aaron Smyth. Alternating as Juliet are Shannon Glover, Kirstel Jensen, Dayana Hardy and prima ballerina Burnise Silvius, returning to the stage following an injury which kept her out of Giselle earlier this year.

 Don't miss this beautiful production!
