Whether it’s the roles in films that we all remember, the characters and illustrations in books, or even the adverts on tv, there has always been something about the rabbit that resonates with people in a way that mice, hamsters and guinea pigs cant. From thumpers role in Disney's Bambi to Frank in the thriller Donnie Darko, as well as the Cadbury’s Caramel bunny. No matter what bunny it is, they have burrowed their way into our hearts, and in my books, they will keep on doing so for years to come.

Bugs Bunny

"Eh....What's Up, Doc?"

Through the years of bugs bunny, the most noticeable thing that we will always remember is his carrot eating personality. Since 1940, this stud of a bunny has been eating his way through Warner Bros, and has appeared in more films than any other cartoon character.

Playboy Bunny

The well renowned playboy bunnies have always caught our attention with their dressing up of a sexy version of the “family pet”. They have been doing this since the 1960’s.

The White Rabbit

"I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late! I'm late! I'm late!"

I've never really been a big fan of Alice in Wonderland, somehow it has always freaked me out, and I have no idea as to why. But one part that has stayed, in a good, friendly way is the White Rabbit, his elegant wardrobe and giant pocket watch has stayed in many hearts. In Tim Burton’s adaption of Lewis Caroll’s classic, the White Rabbit has been slimmed down, has gotten rid of his spectacles and has had a name change for the better – Nivens McTwisp.

Thumper

I'm sure that a lot of you have seen Bambi, I have, more than a few times…it's one of those films that you can watch over and over again and never get bored of. Thumper seems to give Bambi a run for his money with regards to the term “cute”. He remains perhaps one of the most adorable cartoon bunnies of all time, not just for his catch phrase ("If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all.") but for his all-round personality and character.

Peter Rabbit

I have always loved Beatrix Potter, and still do, for some odd reason; every single character has stuck with me. Personally my favourite is Jamima Puddle Duck, but in no way is she a bunny. So for the famous blue jacket wearing bunny who was named after the author’s own pet bunny, Peter Piper has entertained millions of children since 1902.

Banksy's Rabbit

“I wanted to make art that questioned our relationship with animals and the ethics and sustainability of factory farming.”

Banksy’s first New York exhibition was a 2008 installation entitled “Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill” that depicted a meke-up wearing doe, dripping in jewels and filing her paws.

Velveteen Rabbit

"When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but really loves you, then you become real."

Margery Williams’ 1922 children’s novel is based on relationships, timeless love and the importance of real beauty above superficial appearances.

Nesquik Bunny

Funky, fresh and delicious, Nesquik’s recognisable brown cartoon has been mixing up the milk beverage and cereal brand since 1973.

Frank

When it comes to bunnies, your friendly, cute and furry is out of the question when it comes to Frank. He is not your average Easter Bunny, thank goodness. With pointy ears ans imperfect teeth, Frank appears to Donnie (Jake Gyllenhaal) as a prophet of doom in Richard Kelly's cult sci-fi drama.

Caramel Bunny

Take it easy, with Cadbury's Caramel"

Sexy, supermodel, with curvy eyelashes and a West Country accent, this hot bunny is an attractive anthropomorphic rabbit who in the 80’s and 90’s served as the brands mascot, and then in 2009 was remodelled with an updated look, with the tagline “Still Got It”.
