Joburg Ballet has announced a starry line-up of dancers for the leading roles in Don Quixote when the sparkling classic  or ten performances from 13 to 22 March. As already announced, two performances during the 10-performance season star guest artists Marianela Nuñez and Vadim Muntagirov of The Royal Ballet who dance on Friday 20 March at 19:30 and Sunday 22 March at 15:00For the other eight performances, Joburg Ballet will feature four couples from Joburg Ballet’s ranks: Shannon Glover and Ruan Galdino (Fri 13 Mar at 19:30; Sun 15 Mar at 15:00; Wed 18 Mar at 11:00), Claudia Monja and Gabriel Fernandes (Sat 14 Mar at 15:00; Tue 17 Mar at 11:00), Monike Cristina and Ivan Domiciano (Sat 14 Mar at 19:30; Sat 21 Mar at 15:00) and Shana Dewey and Mario Gaglione (Sat 21 Mar at 19h30).

Last seen on the Johannesburg stage five years ago, Don Quixote is set in the bustling Spanish seaport of Barcelona and tells the story of beautiful, audacious Kitri and her love for the dashing but poor barber, Basilio. The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Eddie Clayton will be in the orchestra pit to bring to life one of the most sparkling music scores ever created for ballet.
