Soft Smokey Eyes

If you and the element of dark eye shadow don’t really gel, then take a tip from Leslie Mann’s eyes with a thick swipe of liner first, winging it out at the end and then layering a purple cream shadow onto the lid and then blending it subtly over the liner with a small brush to soften the definition is Inglessis secret. Due to the cream shadow’s texture, one can achieve a more subtle effect. Inglessis smoothed more of the colour on the outer corners of Mann’s eyes to add depth, and then finished up with a swipe of mascara.

Matte Nude Lip

During the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, Camilla Belle wore a stunning nude lip. The key to the perfect matte shade is all in the preparation: Exfoliate your lips and apply an ultra-hydrating balm before layering on your lipstick, but remember that not all lipsticks are created equally. Search for a soft, creamy matte that is easy to apply, when its time to reapply, take everything off and start over so that the product doesn’t look like it has been caked on…that’s the worst!

Matte Waves

The waves of summer don’t necessarily need to be big and beachy. For instance Olivia Wilde’s matte texture at the Tribeca premiere of Deadfall. Her style is relaxed but still works with the greatest amount of volume and movement. “Olivia is gorgeous!” says her hairstylist Peter Butler. Butler fashioned the stars look by applying mousse to her damp strands, and then blow-dried them. “After drying, I used a two-inch barrel curling iron to put waves in random sections to give her hair a sexy, tousled look.” Afterwards he ran a styling paste through her waves in order to create a roughed-up texture and finished with a quick squirt of hairspray. The result…effortless, sexy and classy bed-head waves, well done Butler.

Soft Chignon

Emily Blunt’s loose, relaxed touchable up style maintains a polished, red carpet essence. Laini Reeves, Blunt’s hairstylist strated off the process by rough-drying the strands of the actresses hair, then loosely wrapped them around a two inch curling iron in order to create texture. Reeves stated that “Using bobby pins, I twisted the hair back into the nape of the neck, and let pieces fall to create a soft appearance. I finished the look with a quick spritz of shine spray, and set with a hairspray for extra hold.”

Matte Foundation

When we have a look at Katy Perry, we notice her even complexion, how her perfect skin is matte, and how her makeup doesn’t appear heavy. If your goal is to create a Katy Perry’s flawless skin feel, then start with mattifying primer before adding a light foundation. Blend the product evenly over the skin, then use a concealer over areas where extra coverage is needed. Apply a light dusting of powder to set the look!

Dewy Skin

To achieve Ashley Judd's fresh and glowing complexion trade in your full coverage foundation for a tinted moisturiser, it takes away any uneven tones, but allows you to see your natural skin underneath. Hydration is very important in maintaining dewy skin. Use a light moisturiser and include an SPF into your routine during the day. A luminizing blush will help warm up your complexion.

Matte Red Lip

Dry, cakey matte lipsticks have had their day. Nowadays, formulas have become softer and smoother, for example. Rihanna’s high-impact ruby lipstick worn at the Battleship Australian premiere in Sydney. Her lips didn’t look parched at all, when it comes to using a bold colour like this, make sure that you dab a light layer of concealer or leftover foundation onto your lips before applying your chosen shade. This brings out the true colour of your lipstick, adding glam and class, with no effects of bleeding.

Soft Waves

And everything about Christine Aguilera is stunning and perfect, including her hair featured on “The Voice” this week. Mark Townsend, her hairstylist states that, “I loved the colour and silhouette of the Roland Mouret dress so much, it was such a great fashion moment with a touch of sexiness so I wanted her hair to have the same feeling.” He started off her look with prepping her strands with a Keratin spray in order to soften and condition before blow-drying with a large round brush, he states that  “To give it body and movement, I took 4-inch sections, spraying light hold spray on each and then used a large 2-inch curling iron to give her hair a very soft wave,” and then pulled his fingers through for separation.

Perfect Eyeliner

When it comes to using eyeliner, application can be tricky, and few people can get it right, one of those people are Krysten Ritter who had balanced clean lines and major definition. Amy Nadine, Ritter’s makeup artist stated that “I was inspired by Krysten’s stark black and white dress, and I knew I wanted her makeup to be strong and modern.” Nadine began by filling the actress’s brows, then brushed a shiny crème shadow over her eye lids. With a soft black pencil, Nadine lined Ritter’s inner waterline and then smudged the same pencil along her upper and lower lash line. In order to ensure a subtle fade, Nadine blended a black shadow over the liner and finished the look off with a nice amount of mascara.

Glowing Skin

Most of us dream of having glowing skin, but most of the time we can never get it right, especially with dry winter skin and cold weather following us. For a radiant glow, such as the one Gabrielle Union has, make sure that you exfoliate once a week in order to get rid of dead skin cells, but try not to go over board and scrub too hard. Too much scrubbing can strip the skin and make it look dull. Hydrated skin is known to have a lift from within type of look, so use a rich lotion that isn’t too heavy after exfoliating. If your skin is clear and you are one of the lucky ones, then you can trade in your foundation for a tinted moisturiser.
