Ljiljana Majkić a Sarajevo fashion designer shows us her endless imagination and uniqueness in her Autumn/Winter 2012 collection of garments with exaggerated geometric silhouettes.....................

.....................................................................................................................................

Apparently her inspiration came from the Mediterranean region of Cinque Terre, a place of overflowing beauty and architecture that incorporates warm coloured, simple geometric facades. Her superb collection includes a few dresses with fabric houses stitched to the hem, not only that, but sculptural collar pieces and silky hats add adornments to this amazing collection.

Majkić states that “The main characteristic of her style is the enrichment of modern design by elements of romance and tradition".

“All creations are made from natural materials – cotton, wool and linen, enriched with hand-embroidered motifs, leaving a strong impression and artistic expression.”

Eclectic styles and creative expression is what Ljiljana is all about, the visual involvement of her models is the desire to create and capture something that will last long. Ljiljana has taken simple, sculptural form, poetic spirit and iconic character and added a sprinkle of passion and commitment, and the outcome is an original design that stimulates the mind, body and spirit.

I find her bold, angular shapes interesting. The photograph above with the red skirt and puffed black top is an outfit that I could see someone wearing and looking stunning in it. Especially if you are slim and tall.

Look this is stunning for a photo shoot but I couldn't wear this out.

Photographs are by Vanja Lisac.
