A couture upcycled origami gown made with 1000 paper cranes

Every week newspapers come out, we read them and then we recycle or throw them away. But Ukranian artist Yuliya Krypo has a different take on the newspaper world. Ask her and she just might make you a couture gown. Krypo hand folded 1000 paper cranes from old recycled Metro newspapers, which are free and daily, so she had quite a bit.

It was designed to be read in 20 munites while on one of the transport services in the United Kingdom. So once read, then what happens? Krypo created a dress that features a bustier top with a flowing peacock train; it is on display at the Trash Fashion: designing out waste exhibition at the London Science Museum.
