The fashion world mourns the death of fashion writer Anna Piaggi. Fashion journalist Anna Piaggi stood out in the front rows of Milan and Paris shows, dressed in her eccentric outfits, including elaborate hats and theatrical make-up. She provided inspiration for Karl Lagerfeld, who published a sketchbook of her creations and once wrote: "Anna invents fashion."
In 2006, London's Victoria & Albert museum celebrated her inimitable style by staging an exhibition, 'Anna Piaggi Fashion-ology', exhibiting personal clothes archive, highlighting her extensive collection of vintage couture and designer clothing including garments by Balenciaga, Fendi, Galliano and Poiret.
Some of the tributes sent on twitter.
