Multifaceted Harry Sideropuolos, one of our favourite Jo'burg fundis gets up close and personal with neofundi. An actor, a jazz singer, voice over artist, theatre producer and creator of the all new Ghostronomy experience (see below).

1)Which of your passions do you want to be remembered for?
The ability to consume an entire jar of nutella in one sitting and not feel sick. Oh yes…and my ability to make people laugh.

2)What is the best meal you have had and where?
A little deli just outside San Gimignano, a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy. We had gone to Florence with The Rude Awakening to do a live outside broadcast. After the show, with our personal tour guide Marcello, we would explore the Tuscan countryside and on one of the days, we came across this quaint little deli. We devoured Parma ham, gorgonzola, village bread, olive oil and Italian salami with homemade white wine. Life could very easily have ended there for all of us at that very moment and we wouldn’t of minded.

3)Do you consider yourself a positive or negative person most of the time?
That all depends on what my current bank account statement looks like…ahhh the joys of being an actor in South Africa!

4)Which 4 famous people would you cook for and what would u make?
Kevin Spacey, Judi Dench, Stephen Fry and Pedro Amoldovar and if any of them cancelled…Woody Allen.
I would make them my answer to the traditional Greek cheespie (tiropita). This tiropita is served with phyllo pastry, stuffed with a mixture of greek dodoni feta, pecorino, mozzarella, cheddar and cream cheese with slithers of pepper dews, roasted pine nuts, raisins and fresh mint, drizzled with a fresh basil tomatoe/pesto sauce.

5)What or who makes you laugh?
My mother watching cricket. She’s a scream. Her commentary alone is worth enduring 6 hours of a sport that does absolutely nothing for me.

6)Who is the most interesting person you have interviewed?
Without a doubt, Madiba.

7)What is the one question you would ask anyone in history,( and they would have to give you the right answer)....what would that question be?
Marilyn Monroe. “Babe, did the US government kill you and were you shagging any if not all the Kennedy’s?” Hey don’t judge me! You’re trying to tell me you wouldn’t want to know!

8)If you could change one thing about human behaviour what would it be?
Greed

9)The best?
Cappuccino: Any of the Tasha’s but Rosebank is my favourite
Pasta: My friend Giulio Magni and his wife Andrea. It just doesn’t get any better. But if I were to go to a restaurant, Bodega in Parkhurst.
Pizza: Full Stop which has now moved from Parkhurst to Parktown North
Restaurant: it’s between Nice in Parkhurst and Tasha’s…sorry love them both.
Radio Station: Classic FM
Holiday: The Greek Islands. Sorry, I know it’s predictable but it just doesn’t get any better. The Greek Islands make Ibiza look like a bad dress rehearsal.
Dessert – Either the carrot cake at Nice in Parkhurst or the coconut sponge cake at Tasha’s Rosebank.

10)What is an ideal Sunday in JHB for you?
A visit to Arts on Main in down town Johannesburg. They have an incredible Sunday Market with the most glorious munchies and the setting is perfect. After the market, I walk around some of the gallery spaces, before sitting at CANTEEN, the resident restaurant, for coffee a smoke and the City Press. Plenty of eye candy and you’re bound to bump into at least 9 people you know and you actually want to see. For me it’s the perfect example of Joburg Urban Chic, away from the Four Ways, Monte Casino Tuscan Cluster Township psyche…Thank God…’cause in life there are two things that never travel well…SALAD AND TUSCAN ARCHITECTURE.

Ghostronomy- fantastic concept. After having heard you on the radio and seen one of your shows, I am sure it will be 'spirited'. Please invite me for cricket with your mom :)
