The South African Motor Club Association (SAMCA) is having their annual Angela’s Picnic on Sunday, 3 April. The event is a non-commercial (no flea market or food stalls) aimed at the classic car fraternity and the lovers of classic cars. The event is held every year at Delta Park in Linden, Johannesburg and they support the Wits Hospice Association by taking a collection at the gate.

In memory of Angela Heinz who initiated and arranged the
event until cancer took its toll

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
No open braai fires under any circumstances
No vendors and boot sales will be allowed
There will be No Food for sale – Please bring your Picnic basket
Each club to provide 1 x 4,5kg fire extinguisher at picnic site (***)

Have fun and have your donation ready at the entrance

Notes:
* All members of SAMCA affiliated clubs are invited. However, in reality, a large number of “non-affiliated clubs” participate, as well as individuals who have interesting cars.

** It is not an exhibition per se, but a picnic for like minded motoring enthusiasts and their classic cars. The cars will be parked and the owners, friends and family will be picnicking alongside the cars.
Generally, people wander around and look at the cars in between gorging themselves on the picnic fare they have brought along.

*** The fire extinguisher is a requirement of the Johannesburg City Parks. So each club must have at least one fire extinguisher at their gathering point. However, most classic car insurance schemes require the car to be equipped with a small fire extinguisher, so if the car has one that is ok.
