Michelle Saunders: I’ve always wanted to go to Africa. And this tribal French manicure is my way of getting there. I’ve already applied first base coat. Now for our first color, Lapis of Luxury. Paint two coats of Lapis of Luxury down the middle of the nail only.

Michelle Saunders: Next, I’m taking one of Essie’s classic reds, Russian Roulette, to create a triangle near the cuticle. I want Lapis of Luxury to peak out. I’m just wiping side to side.

Michelle Saunders: Let Russian Roulette dry for just a few minutes before our next step. The final step is to create a French tip with Go Overboard. Many people ask me how thick or how wide the French tip should be. It depends on how long your nails are. You want to follow your natural smile line.

Michelle Saunders: No one’s perfect. So if you painted outside of the lines, use a small brush dipped in polish remover to remove any extra polish on your skin. Finish this look with Good to Go top coat.
