JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, 14 December 2012

Visitors experienced the beginning of the festive season at the Eastgate shopping centre that was filled with magic and entertainment against the backdrop of fantastical festive decorations.

The Lights went on at 19:00 hours on the 7^th December 2012 at the entrance 9B near Piazza. The event included featuring performances by Carols by Candle light and a live performance from SA’s Sama- Award winning instrumental supergroup – Sterling EQ.

The uniquely designed festive decorations can be viewed throughout the centre, filling it with light, magic and fantasy. It offers a serene contrast to the normally bright themed decorations over the festive period. A fantastic centre display can be viewed in the central Piazza area and other main areas showcase dazzling designs that form a fantasy backdrop to your shopping experience.

Children’s holiday activities include fun arts and crafts programmes as well as the launch of new games in the centre.

New retail stores opening soon include Fabiani, Clarks, Diesel, Lovisa, Swatch, Samsung, Steve madden and Jag Club.

Festive trading hours have been extended during the December period.
