Heart 104.9FM, Cape Town’s beat, in conjunction with GAME and local non – profit organisation (NPO) Newkidz on the Block, is aiming to encourage the public to donate even more educational and recreational toys for the specific needs areas.

Heart 104.9FM is aiming to encourage the station’s listeners to volunteer to help children in need by making donations towards the initiative at GAME Stores in the Western Province. The Toy Story campaign commenced 1st October and will continue until 17th December 2012, with Heart 104.9FM DJs and GAME stores supporting 40 orphanages in their areas. Heart 104.9FM and GAME have collected over 2, 273 toys already since 1 October!

A new division of GAME, FoodCo, has launched their new range of “ready to eat” meals now available in all the GAME Foodco Western Cape stores too. Their NEW convenient meals for the whole family with delicious family favourites, are great value and taste great, and provide convenient meals in 3 minutes! Ideal for busy lifestyles – a delicious quick family supper or lunch at the office or an easy, tasty meal on the run.

Newkidz on the Block, is an established registered NPO based in Cape Town concerned mainly with the plight of orphans in South Africa. Founded in 2007, the Child and Youth centre builds child-support networks in communities to help place orphans with foster families or in children’s homes. They promote foster care to the general public and offer guidance to foster families. The organisation aims to give people who want to give back and support those in need, but aren’t sure where to go and what to do about it, an opportunity to help.

Heart 104.9FM DJs will personally appear, with some celebrities, on the following Saturdays at the respective GAME stores in support of the Toy Story campaign between 11h00 – 14h00 : 

• Game Tygervalley – Sam Roy with Sekoati Tsubane & Claire Phillips - 15 December. 

Heart 104.9FM’s Toy Story campaign will celebrate with a Cavalcade on Monday, 17 December, proceeding from 11h30 at Heart 104.9FM’s studio in Greenpoint to Christine Revell Children's Home, Huntley Street in Athlone.
