Swedish industrial designers over at People People created this outstanding and unique ‘Invisible Speaker’. A transparent design allows for the speaker to blend in to virtually any living environment. The size is big enough to offer great sound quality, yet the speaker takes up little visible space. The box is transparent, but the sound creating components are clearly emphasized.

Usability

The speakers come with a small wifi antenna, that can plug in to any computer, music player or smart phone. It will also work for old stereos or vinyl equipment. The aim is to set the music free no matter where it’s stored.

Sustainability

Being big is good for sound quality but not so good with regards to the shipping aspect. This speaker ships in a small, flat package that goes through your mailbox. The glass sheets which make up the box is being ordered through the glass repair shop closest to every single customer. And in so doing, the speaker reduces shipping with up to 90%, andsupports local handicraft "killing two birds with one stone". A very economical and ecological solution. The speaker is then assembled at home, IKEA style. This also means that if the components do break first (the rubber ring and the speaker cone), it can easily be replaced, keeping the product away from any landfill.

Update with some info: The speaker is still under development, and not available for purchase yet.
