Natasha (from tashas) called me on Sunday night asking me if I felt like going to Cape Town for a couple of days, she had to go for work and she had an extra ticket. Needless to say I went home packed a bag and off I went. We landed,  went to Avis got a car and went straight to Constantia, were Natasha just opened her latest franchise store. Obviously the place was packed so I went to sit at Vida for a while. Natasha then went to a meeting and I went with Savva(her brother) and the rest of the team to Lavazza head office. There they made us coffees, and for me, they made me a cold cappuccino.  How can I describe it: it has a creamy velvet thick texture and tastes delicious, no cream no ice cream, just a cuppuccino made on a cloud

Did I mention I drank this coffee at 4:35pm…BIG mistake…

We arrived at the POD hotel, for those of you who have not heard of it, it is a five star hotel in Camps Bay. What was even more amazing is that they gave me my own room at no extra charge, because Natasha always stays there when she goes to Cape Town. PLEASE NOTE if Natasha invites you somewhere JUST GO!!

Everyone was tired so they ordered pizza from Luigi’s Pizzeria. John Sanei joined us for dinner,  which is always a good thing because he is a young entreprenuer that seems to have his finger on the pulse and he knows something about everything.  If I lived in Cape Town he would have to put a restraining order against me. The Pizza was perfect, a margarita with chilli made with dough from a master, I know this because every bite was better than the last. We all went to our rooms, I put on the tv and watched till I fell asleep…I fell asleep at 3:45am thanks to that irresistable Lavazza bloody velvet cappuccino!!!

While on this trip I also experienced, Fior de latte mozzarella balls filled with cream cheese inside.  Made from cows milk. This cheese tastes like buffallo mozzarella but not so watery and not so firm, which is made from buffallo milk. It is I discovered one of my new favourite cheeses.

Fior De Latte Mozzarella Balls

I also discovered spier eggs. These eggs are free range and they are a dark yellow colour, the funny thing is they don’t taste like eggs and let me just say I love eggs, but these eggs are outstanding. I am starting to think there is a secret food society that’s keeping regular folks in the dark (please note I did not take any drugs on the trip).

Once again life proves to me that when opportunity comes knocking just do it, you never know what you will experience.
