Friends of mine have started a project called Hothouse Concerts - acoustic concerts in your living room. They are great musicians and I wholeheartedly recommend them. Here is an extract from their website:

Host an intimate acoustic concert in your living room

What is it?    An intimate concert for you and your friends in your home!
How does it work?     You browse our list of musicians and fill in the form to book a date. The artist will then get in touch with you directly. Follow our easy guide to help you with invitations and preparations.
How much does it cost?     A suggested donation of R50 to R100 per person (paid by each guest attending). Some artists may require the host to guarantee a minimum fee.
What’s in it for you?     An evening of beautiful music for you and your friends in the comfort of your home.
What’s in it for the artists?     We love playing for audiences that listen. We love a small audience we can connect with.
