It seems all things royal are in this season. This weekend
celebrates a ‘Right Royal Affair’ all around. As South African
citizens don their finest threads for the Durban July, the world’s
most extravagant principality; Monaco is already in the midst of
royal nuptial festivities.

South Africa’s soon-to-be princess’ ascent to royalty has seen a
beautiful transformation of a down-to-earth athlete to the elegant,
regal lady that graces newspapers and magazine covers all across
the world this weekend.

When a new member takes her place in a royal family; designers
the world over can only hope for the chance to adorn her in their
creations. Spero Villioti Couture is privileged to be counted among
the designers Monaco’s princess has chosen to line her cupboards
with. In 2006 Charlene chose to attend the prestigious Monaco Red
Cross Ball in Spero Villioti Couture attire. And this is not the
only time the Johannesburg based couture designer has been her
first choice. It seems only fitting though that the princess in
waiting be dressed by our very own “king” of couture.
Here’s to wishing the royals of the Riviera a long, successful
and joyous marriage. And to the wardrobe of a princess, that most
of us covet owning, we hope to see more South African designs
hanging alongside the international names.
