One of my favourite things to report on every year is the Pantone-Colour of the Year.

The reason simply being is, because it’s so influential.  For one full year you’ll see a variety of hues and shades of this colour being depicted in our every-day life, in the form of fashion, beauty, décor and art.

World-class designers whom set seasonal trends will in one way or another portray this colour on the runway at Fashion Week(s) across the globe.  The most well-known beauty houses will bring this “tone” to us in products ranging from eye-shadow, lipstick, eyeliner, blush, nail polish and a whole lot more,  paint will even be available in this colour to those wanting to be right on trend in their home and of course, lest us not forget accessories.

So, without further adieus, for 2015, Pantone’s team of experts have gone to the more subdued side of the colour spectrum… choosing a brownie pink called Marsala (aka Pantone 18-1438) as their new favourite hue.

“Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director at the Pantone Color Institute, which also said the shade is one to enrich “our minds, bodies and souls.”

“This hearty, yet stylish tone is universally appealing and translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings and interiors,” Eiseman noted on their website.

Without even knowing it, I recently bought a killer pair of heels in a tone, similar to this, called Mulberry, so, without a doubt, I’m in favor!

Feel free to share your newly purchased items in Marsala, with the rest of us Fundi’s by emailing: s.elesha@gmail.com and I’ll post an updated blog on this topic in a couple of weeks.
