Introducing a luxury label specialising in pure cashmere pieces in a collection of all the colours you can imagine, sourced from Loro Piana in Italy; Black Sheep shares their raw material with the likes of Chanel and Ralph Lauren, and boasts the highest quality of cashmere available worldwide.

This cashmere comes from the Hyrcus goat found in India, China, Afghanistan and Mongolia, which has developed an under down of thousands of super-fine, soft fibres concentrated in a small area. Every Spring the fibres are removed using a combing procedure that is harmless to the animal. One goat yields an average of only 250 grams of cashmere per year, making it extremely coveted and precious.

The cashmere undergoes a journey which culminates in the grand finale in South Africa, in the form of luxurious ponchos, dressing gowns, scarves, jerseys and travel blankets to name a few. “Cashmere is incredibly soft but durable too.” At Black Sheep, customers are shown how to care for their purchases, protecting their investment and ensuring longevity for their pieces.

Combining passion and purpose, co-creators Nicky Greig and Robyn McLaughlin have amalgamated their talents and backgrounds in jewellery and fashion to create a niche business that allows them to balance life and work. Working from home, and offering their wares at show days, they started small and have grown exponentially in their first few years. Bespoke designs are paired with a long list of loyal clients, who share their love for quality cashmere, Nicky and Robyn are perfecting their signature styles, aiming to stay current, whilst creating classics that will not date, and are flattering to array of shapes and sizes.

They select unique colour combinations from the gorgeous gallery that Loro Piana provides, and offer the client an opportunity to order pieces in a personalized palette. Employing humour and honesty, these ladies are lucky to love what they do, experimenting with one of the most coveted fibres available today.

So exquisite! Where can we buy the clothes? I am in Pretoria but close to Melrose Arch, Irene. Do not mind Faerie Glen, Woodlands? E-mail me marianna@telkomsa.net. Will see if I cannot find an online store? Thx
