Mariette Bergh is one of a few young and brilliant artists coming out of South Africa. The last exhibition I went to of hers was an incredible affair in Rosebank with gentle images painted on glass.
-
Her new exhibition which opens tomorrow, Thursday the 15th of March revisits the mediums of reversed-glass paintings and a combination of reverse-glass with ink drawings on wood.
-
I have found Mariette's work to be at the very least beautiful to look at. Its time for the young guns of the art world to take over, Mariette is one of them.
-
Come to ROOM at 70 Juta street Braamfontein tomorrow at 18:00 to view the opening of the show.
-
Now you are creating a dilemma Jozi. Wolves or Room for Thursday night :) ?

I have been hearing a lot about Mariette Bergh lately. So nice to see young SA artists get the exposure they desperately need.

I also appreciate Givan Lotz work, I'll keep you all updated for his next exhibition.
Wow!! her work is amazing! I love the girl in the bikini on the beach. Can't believe I haven't taken the time to explore her work before.
Beautiful...simple and yet so powerful
She is great Jozi! you should interview her.
