I found this series of photos a few days ago and have been back to look at them a few times over - I love them so! I couldn't resist sharing these amazing photos with you. This freelance exhibition project is called "Jahrhundertmensch", which means "Happy at One Hundred" in German, Karsten Thormaehlen is the photographer and he takes photographs of men and women over 100 years old.

What I love about these portraits are the amazing detail showing every wrinkle present in the subjects' faces. You can see their happiness so clearly - what a beautiful reminder that laughing and smiling never has to stop! We can still enjoy life well into our second century!

Thormaehlen is a very well-known photographer in Germany who has received numerous awards. He's a member of the prestigious professional associations BFF Stuttgart and Fotografie Forum International and his portraits have been exhibited in various places around Germany.
