Chopard and Giuseppe Zanotti’s Jewel-encrusted stiletto sandals.

Chopard partnered with footwear designer Giuseppe Zanotti to create a pair of jewel-encrusted stiletto sandals — to be worn on the feet of model Anja Rubik on the red carpet in Cannes on May 19. The jewelry brand’s co-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele worked with Zanotti himself to conceptualize the sky-high pink satin heels, comprising rose gold chains, 22 carats of diamonds, 134 carats of rubellites and 199 carats of pink sapphires. (The designer calls them “the most precious shoes ever.”)

There’s also a matching pair of rose gold, pink sapphire and diamond hoop earrings, and both will be auctioned off later that day at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS gala. “This year, we wished to support the charity through an idea than took shape when I met Giuseppe Zanotti. His talent has inspired a project combining our respective crafts,” said Gruosi-Scheufele.

Shoelosophy notes: Better be worn with a short skirt as hiding any part of this shoe would be super costly. I would not even attempt estimating the value of these sandals.
