I just received my invite to what should be the play of the season, The Line is written and directed by Gina Shmukler.

THE LINE is a play about the 'nature of human' and moments in time in South Africa. Having spent several months in the townships THE LINE is constructed from a series of interviews with South Africans involved or affected by the xenophobic attacks that took place in May 2008.THE LINE explores the fragility of goodness. PG 14

'Run, don't walk, to see this outstanding new play. In a year that's seen South African art hit international headlines, this is a welcome antidote: thoughtful, incisive and beautifully scripted,it'll leave you wanting more. More answers, questions, insights, understanding. More please!'

Lesley Lokko, UK-based best-selling novelist of Sundowners, Bitter Chocolate, One Secret Summer and many more.

The Line will be showing at the Market Theatre. Tickets are available from Computicket.
