This season, Day Birger et Mikkelsen’s Spring / Summer 2015 collection is characterised by it’s prints, black and white and all kinds of nude shades, with a twist of murky tones.
The name of the collection; “The Fossilised Flower Garden”, symbolises a mix between the tailored and unconcerned, a period where the symbolic fable flower combines with classic relief and structure, inspired, initially, by the Stucco Flower.
The brand set out to create a new Bohemian look by contrasting feminine and masculine archetypes, defined by its hard, robust surface – lace, broderie anglaise and floral prints.
Keld Mikkelsen says: “our inspiration for Spring / Summer 2015 arises from the strong feelings a petrified flower conveys. The collection introduces a different and improved look that mixes unexpected treasures, such as sharp men’s shoes, stylish laces and feminine shirts in unique permutations.”
