So I heard that in an unprecedented joint venture, two of South Africa’s hottest designers have joined forces following a successful show in London’s trendy Kensington. Missibaba, luxury accessory design label established by Chloe Townsend, guru of all things leather, and jewellery artiste Kirsten Goss, recent winner of Design Indaba’s “most beautiful object in South Africa” with her Lily Pad Ring, have secured premises in Cape Town’s bustling Bree Street with a view to showcase the two desirable brands in the same stylish location.

Jozi fashionistas will know that Kirsten launched her Johannesburg store last year in trendy Birdhaven...the synergy between the two is unmistakeable: Chloe and Kirsten share the same passion for hand made artisanship as well as the overall ethos of consideration in the design, the unlikely combinations and the unexpected twist, all combined with quality and individuality. Although their materials differ, their inherent love of the uninhibited is seen in their use of texture and colour and their boldness is united in pushing the boundaries.

The store on Bree will accommodate both brands with careful consideration to each one’s particular characteristics. Following the success of the KG store opening in Johannesburg last year, both designers are looking forward to a July opening; but if you're not heading down to the Cape, get yourselves over to the Birdhaven store to check out the Winter Collection...these gorgeous jewels are enough to make you feel warm all over...
