About Millers Antiques

Eighty odd years since it was founded by Simon Miller, the landmark furniture store is still located in the original premises on Siemert Road and is very much part of the vibrant commercial landscape of Doornfontein. Millers is centered around the belief that the customer is paramount and that quality and service are the spine and heart of the business.

The store has evolved and built on the personalities and heritage of each generation and culminates with their future vision:  to supply a variety of beautifully hand crafted furniture of uncompromising quality at unbeatable prices! Our Concept

To create an interior design stand showcasing a very eclectic living, dining and work space. The inspiration behind the aesthetic of this exhibition is the cross reference between past and present- the combination of timeless antique style furniture with a contemporary twist, and ultra modern Italian pieces. The setting could be a fabulous Parisian apartment, or London loft, where there are no preconceived ideas of do’s and don’ts. It will be a collection of interesting pieces and juxtaposition, an all-inclusive, multi faceted space where each piece is unique and has its own story to tell.

We think that this opportunity for a byte of design consultancy is quite unique. We want to extend this idea further by having interactive pieces of furniture where people have the option to order finished custom furniture. From picking the finish of a chair frame to the fabric choice- this will be a design experience, where we are able to illustrate the bespoke services that we offer, tailor fit to everyone’s individual tastes and requirements.

What we hope to create with this exhibition is a pocket of space which is magnificently bold, sophisticated but with an edge that passers by just can’t shake the feeling that they must come and see what’s going on. We want it to be magnetic. We thrive on different, we embrace colour, pattern and texture to create something that you perhaps wouldn’t have put together, but when you see it, it’s infectious, it has its own story to tell.
