Dark and smokey eyes are often left for the colder months as light hearted, colourful looks are the general appearance. But for spring 2012, that smokey eyed look will be seen in in abundance. In fact, it was a trending look on the spring 2012 runways from Gucci’s heavy take on a smokey shimmer with the likes of Emanuel Ungaro and Erin Fetherston.

Even though that sooty black eyeshadow doesn’t always feel appropriate for spring, the peacock plumage of purple and blue edged with black – as seen on the runway of Rodarte spring 2012 – is one you won’t regret mastering.
