Fluctuation of Life 2010

Deriving inspiration from the forms found in microscopic life such as spores, fungi, viruses or even sperm, Mika Aoki a Japanese artist creates stunning glass sculptures. At first glance they look like high-speed macro photographs of water droplets, but they are actually physical stationary sculptures that are crafted with fascination of visible and invisible qualities of the medium. Through her skillful command of light and glass, Aoki depicts these microscopic life forms in a haunting but beautiful style, which she calls “singing glass”.

I find this art form beautiful and interesting.

They look like coral projections and liquid molecules.
