Sherry Miller, one of our favourite Cape Town fundis, spent time with us unlocking some of her own and Cape Town's secrets.

What do you love doing in Cape Town?

Well, it depends on the weather. On a warm summers day I like to go the beach, usually a quiet one away from the crowds where I can relax and swim so that would be Moses beach in Clifton.

What do you do on a rainy day in Cape Town?
Go to the V&A waterfront for some lunch at Willoughby's and a movie after.

What are your favourite restaurants?
Giovanni's in Green point for a quick bite. The Grand in camps bay by the fire place on a cooler evening and on the balcony on a beautiful summer's evening sipping a margarita.

Where do you go for a fun night out?
Well it depends on what the hottest spot in town would be, at present the one and only Reserve which is in town in a 150 year old building.

Where do you go for a romantic night out?
Kitmas in Hout bay which has the best asian cuisine and an amazing chilli thai martini. Then there is always old faithful La Perla.

What is an ideal Sunday for you?
I like to sleep in late and cook breakfast for my darling Herman or go to tasha in Constantia for a very late lunch.

Favourite breakfast place?
Village and Life Café in loader street situated in the Waterkant as it has a very European feel.

Favourite coffee place?
I don't drink coffee anymore but Gio's is always very entertaining.

Favourite bar?
The Riebeeck Castle bar as it has very good memories.

Favourite clothing and shoe store?
I have a few, Lipsy for amazing sexy dresses, Etincelle for the amazing J brand jeans shoes always hard to find so wherever I can get a size 35 and then old Louis Vuitton for a bag.

What is your favourite historical site?
Parliament building in Government Ave.

What are the essential places to go if you only have a weekend?
Well there is so much so it would have to be the Twelve Apostles Hotel for a Rasool treatment with Herman, and Tinswalo Atlantic for a relaxing time away.

What is your favourite part about living in Cape Town?
It has one of the most amazing ocean views and the fact that you can still walk around the promenade and not look over your shoulder and have a free life.
