Salma Hayek's First Beauty Line - Nuance

Salma Hayek (mexican actress, director and producer, married to Francois-Henri Pinault) has taken time off from her acting career to focus on the development of her first beauty line called Nuance Salma Hayek. Inspired by her grandmother, a cosmetologist who was an advocate of native American and Mayan formulations, Salma is set to launch at 7,000 CVS Pharmacy stores nationwide from August and is expected to make $35 million in its first year alone.

The range has everything from make-up to anti-ageing skincare. Even though the products will retail from about R60 to R200, the formulations will rival anything at the top of the market.

"It is possible to create extraordinary product for a low price. Everyone should have the right product at the right price," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying at an event to launch the line Thursday.

"I wanted to make simply the best product and give everyone access to the good stuff," she said.
