#Powerofmakeup has frenzied beauties around the world into portraying their true- selves in images of half-done makeup.

My oblivious self, wasn’t aware of a global trend doing the rounds of woman frowning upon wearing makeup.  The first thought of it took me back to the 60’s when The Women’s Rights Movement took to the streets in New Jersey, Atlantic City by burning their bras in protest for equal civil rights, the thought was so bizarre to me.  However, apparently it’s true…woman are bullying woman it seems, in protest of defying makeup.  Saying it’s shameful and “a cheat code for women.”

The revelation came when I was sent a link to a video, featuring YouTube beauty vlogger (video blogger for those uninformed peeps), Nikkie, who started the movement: #Powerofmakeup, designed to tell the world that putting on makeup shouldn't be something women should be ashamed of.

Within hours of Nikkie posting the video, the hashtag went viral on Twitter and Instagram with women proclaiming how much they love makeup. It’s all about being true to oneself and feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Watch her video here and let us know how you feel about the movement.
