Klûk CGDT is well known for their Drama and the F/W 2012 show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Jo’burg last night, most definitely had the Theatrical Factor on Full-Swing! The Show began with Flamenco Dancers (who were spread amongst the audience) and began to emerge making their way towards the stage with Castanets-a-Clapping; waving their skirts, stomping their feet and clapping their hands.

The Show began shortly and not in the usual manner... 5 Models strutted down the stage towards a Platform in the centre of the ramp decorated in fairy lights. Once all 5 Models were on the Ramp, they began to individually proceed down the rest of the runway.

The Design Duo experimented with the notion of Conflict as an Act of Passion. The opposite of Love is not Hate, but Indifference as it takes energy and effort to be emotionally connected to Hate. The collection uses the Spanish Civil war as a historical influence - including its flared costumes, dance, bull fights, passion, sex and beauty!

The Garments were beautiful made in the usual Glamorous Style of Klûk CGDT. They mixed in a contrast of fabrics from sheer chiffons and beautiful silks to luxurious velvet. There were very peculiar head pieces towards the end of the show which resembled Spanish Fans placed in the models hair to elevate the veil above the head.

The Show ended in an unexpected way: Instead of all the models making their way down the ramp and back stage they began to lie down on the centre Platform assuming to be ‘dead’ while the Model in the Main Bridal Piece Stood triumphantly in the centre. They remained in this position until the audience cleared the room. Is that Dramatic enough for you?

Well done to one of our Most Acclaimed Design Duo! We can’t wait for More! …
