The newest collection of Kate Moss for Longchamp, which launches in stores in August, is possibly her best yet. A combined design effort by Kate and Longchamp’s artistic director, Sophie Delafontaine, focuses on the iconic Gloucester duffle bag from one of her previous collections. “It is a real staple of my wardrobe,” Kate told Stylist. The bag has been reworked in suede, comes in three sizes (from small to a holdall) and is available in new colours, khaki and burgundy. Kate explains that the khaki design is a particular favourite: “I wear the colour a lot, because I think it goes very well with denim. For me, khaki is a basic colour – a kind of new neutral.”
The design also cleverly incorporates the snakeskin trend. “I was inspired by a vintage miniskirt of mine,” she explains, “which has a mix of brown and black shades. I thought that was different and more interesting than the usual snakeskin.” With Kate’s fashion credentials, we’ll take one of each please.
