The long wait for the launch of H&M in South Africa is finally over, in less than 24 hours, Saturday, the 7th of November, at 11am to be exact, the Sandton City store will open its doors to all fashionistas in Johannesburg for a serious fashion–fuelled day of shopping!

With that said, Tuesday, the 3^rd saw the fashion-forward came out to play when more than 1000 fashionistas, celebrities and members of the media gathered for the VIP party of H&M’s first Gauteng store.  (Sigh, for not being able to be there myself)

The invited guests were treated to flowing drinks, delicious snacks and amazing music whilst discovering the spectacular 2700 square meters of fabulous fashion. The highlight of the evening was the reveal of the exclusive HM x Balmaination Collection that launched globally on the 4th. (View second blog on H&M Balmain Collab to follow)

The evening sparkled with glitz and glamour as Joburg’s fashion scene rubbed shoulders with top celebrities and international and local movers and shakers. Spotted in the crowd were Bonang Matheba, Somizi Mhlongo, Da Les, Nomuzi Mabena, Lee-Anne Liebenberg, Loyiso and Jen Bala, as well as top stylists, bloggers and models.

Adding to the excitement of the evening was a rocking set by 3 of South Africa’s top DJ acts – DJ Zinhle, LCNVL and award-winning DJ Black Coffee. They all hit the decks and wowed the crowd with high-energy tracks that spun late into the evening.

Shopping was the order of the night as excited VIP’s went home happy with bags of the latest H&M summer fashions and pieces from the exclusive H&M x Balmaination Collection.
