Gavin Rajah's show last night was Amazing and most probably one of our favourite shows from the Entire Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Johannesburg. The Show opened with the soundtrack of a Thunder Storm but that didn't 'dampen' anyones spirits.

It’s been three years since Rajah has showcased in Johannesburg and seeing the Gorgeous Dresses emerge from back stage, we were so glad that he is back! The range takes inspiration from“a summer rose garden fading into fall”  and embraces influences from Albertus Seba’s Thesaurus.

Gavin Rajah said in an interview with City Press: “The collection is an exploration of botanical drawings of roses, and anatomical drawings of insects and reptiles. There is beauty in everything whether it be decay, preservation or death. The traditional cultural and literary references to flora symbolises love, innocence and fragrance. It’s juxtaposed over the often macabre cabinet of curiosities I find fascinating. In some way it reflects the passage of life, a fall from innocence, a multitude of experiences both good and bad.”

The models walked gracefully down the runways in order for everyone to appreciate the work put into them — Some Dresses were heavily hand-beaded with Beautiful Flowers and Foliage.

Pastel Greys and Pinks were mixed with creams while black was a strong secondary staple in the range. There were pops of Green to represent the "green of the garden".

We are certainly very glad that Gavin is Back, his Couture Glamour and Style were truly Missed! We can't wait to see more!
