Skincare has become very sophisticated due to brilliant scientific research – but let’s face it, high-end skincare products are really expensive,so it’s absolutely fabulous when a famous French dermatological range like SVR is available at Clicks for a very affordable price.

Make no mistake, SVR comes with an impressive pedigree- it was developed in 1962 by pharmacist couple Simone and Robert Véret (SVR!) whose mission was to offer the best efficacy and tolerance of any skincare range. The entire product range has been tested on sensitive skins and all the products contain real active ingredients in high concentrations.

 I tested the Clairial Crème SPF50- which reduces and prevents the accentuation of existing brown spots- and I was happy that it didn’t leave a white mask-like effect on my face like some sunblocks- it also played very nicely with my makeup which I applied on top after waiting a few minutes. And viola! Sunscreened for the day! There is also a tinted mineral sunscreen- good for no makeup days.

 The Clairial range is used specifically for the treatment of dark spots and pigmentation- an issue which is relevant in sunny SA. I only needed a pea-sized amount for my whole face and neck- a little goes a long way. For a 50ml tube of very high sun protection- R 440. In fact, the products range between R185- R655.
